Smoking & Tobacco Cessation

Are you ready to stop using tobacco?

Chances are, if you are looking at this site, you are either thinking about quitting or have made the decision to stop smoking.  If so, congratulations.  You have several options available through your Kentucky Employees Health Plan to help you be successful. 

Over-the-Counter Nicotine Replacement Therapy and Prescription Drug Treatment

There are many ways to quit smoking and using tobacco. Many people quit cold turkey, while others may need help such as Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) , prescription drug treatment or Smoking/Tobacco Cessation programs. You can also ask your doctor what may be the best for you.

The Cooper Clayton program is available through your local health department.  It is a 13 week program (first week is the orientation) in which you will work with a trained smoking and tobacco cessation facilitator. You must attend all 13 meetings in order to continue to qualify to receive the over-the-counter NRT products

The Kentucky Tobacco Quit Line is a phone based counseling service available to provide you one-on-one counseling with a trained smoking cessation counselor.  You must speak with your Quit Line Counselor each week to continue to receive the over-the-counter NRT products.
