Kentucky State Government Co-op/Intern Program

WIN-WIN

Kentucky Co-op/Intern Student Program is a WIN - WIN situation for everyone. The Co-op/Intern student wins by being employed in the Commonwealth of Kentucky as an interim in their field of study and by having the chance to learn how the workplace operates. The student applies what they are learning in the classroom to real world situations. The Agency wins by having an educated, interested and motivated worker.

Simple Process

It is so simple to start the process. The Co-op/Intern student will need to fill out an application on the Career Opportunities System (COS) and apply to the Co-op/Intern position. Once you have submitted your application for the position you will need to mail a copy of an unofficial transcript and mail a signed academic credit agreement form to the Co-op/Intern Coordinator Rebekah Singleton.

Co-op/Intern Program Administrative Procedures and Polices

The Personnel Cabinet has revised the Kentucky State Government Co-op/Intern Program Administrative Procedures and Polices.

The Co-op/Intern Educational Placement Program changes include the following:

  1. The Personnel Cabinet will require that students receive academic credit and the school supply proof of said credit to the Personnel Cabinet. This is different from the previous practice of allowing students to participate without receiving academic credit.
  2. Supplement Form or academic credit agreement indicating academic credit and the type of work assignments the student must perform to receive credit,
  3. The revised Salary Range Guide, Pay Grade 48 for Class Code 9901 (Co-op/Intern).

The policies and procedures furnished by the Personnel Cabinet are to be followed in placing students in Co-op or Intern positions.

Thank you in advance for your participation and assistance.
