The Business and Professional Women (BPW) of River City names Personnel Cabinet Secretary Woman of Excellence
Secretary Nikki Jackson was honored by The Business and Professional Women of River City as one of the recipients for the Woman of Excellence Award on Thursday October 22, 2009.
BWP/River City is located in Louisville, Kentucky and currently has approximately 150 members, which designates the local chapter as the largest BPW in the world! BPW/River City was founded in 1976. BPW's vision is to be the leading advocate for working women.
Their mission is: To achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information. BPW includes among its members, women and men of every age, race, religion, political party, and socioeconomic background.
BPW/River City annually sponsors Kentucky Business Women’s Week during the second week in October to highlight working women’s issues and accomplishments in the community through seminars, programs, and presentation of special awards to winners of competitions for Woman of Achievement, Young Professionals, Good Guy, and Corporate Excellence.
September 16, 2009 KY Public Employees' Deferred Compensation Authority awarded Effective Communication Leadership Award
During the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators (NAGDCA) Annual Conference (Austin, Texas), Kentucky Public Employees' Deferred Compensation Authority was presented with the Effective Communication Leadership Award. This award recognizes outstanding achievements in effective communication, plan design and administration. The prestigious recognition is received by government members only. The Commonwealth of Kentucky program receiving honors is entitled “Get Into Prison” Enrollment Campaign. Congratulations to Bob Brown and the Deferred Comp staff.

KY Personnel Cabinet Receives 2008 Occupational Excellence Achievement Award
The National Safety Council (NSC) has recognized the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet with the 2008 Occupational Excellence Achievement Award. This award symbolizes outstanding reporting for injuries and illnesses that involved days away from work, equal to or less than 50% of the BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics) rate for their 6-digit NAICS (National American Industry Classification System) code. This award is a component of the National Safety Council’s member-exclusive Occupational Awards Program, created to recognize outstanding safety achievements among members.
