Historical Society Exhibition

Giraffe PianoWhat is a treasure? Explore pieces from the Kentucky Historical Society collections in Great Revivals: Kentucky Decorative Arts Treasures, an exhibition that highlights five stylistic design eras and the commonwealth’s treasures from those times. Artifacts featured in the exhibition illustrate the evolution of decorative styles and the changing tastes of nineteenth-century Kentuckians. In addition to reviving this long-stored collection, Great Revivals is an invitation to revisit and become reacquainted with the Old State Capitol, a national historic landmark. Great Revivals opens Saturday, June 6 at the Old State Capitol in downtown Frankfort.

Journey to Wellness Kick-off to Summer Event
A Message from Wellness Director Stephanie Marshall

The Journey to Wellness Program is partnering with the Kentucky Department of Parks and the Department of Agriculture to welcome summer to Kentucky. We are planning this event after the completion of the Fitness Challenge so participants can drop off their score cards. We will organize group walks from several buildings to the Farmer’s Market on Thursday, June 18, 2009, during the lunch hour. The Kentucky Department of Parks will have a chef or two available to demonstrate uses for your fresh produce and KY Proud products. The Department of Agriculture will provide cornhole toss games and we will have other summer fun activities available for your enjoyment. So, get out your walking shoes, a picnic basket and blanket, and don’t forget to purchase some locally grown fruits and vegetables while you are at the market. Keep on the look out for information coming your way as summer approaches!
