As part of Governor Beshear’s Smart Government Initiative, the Personnel Cabinet and Department of Revenue Green Team is leading an effort to encourage employees to go green by going paperless.
Electronic pay stubs and checks are efficient, secure and easy to access through the Employee Self Service (ESS) feature in KHRIS. Save time and money by receiving an electronic pay stub and by direct depositing your pay check.

Instructions for Switching from a Paper Check to Direct Deposit and an Electronic Pay Stub
The instructions are the same as above except step #7. At step #7, you will need your checkbook in order to enter your bank account and routing numbers. KHRIS will also allow you to direct deposit into more than one bank or more than one bank account. If you are interested in this feature, at step #5 you need to click on “New other bank” instead of clicking “Edit.”

A. Employees are welcome to contact their Human Resource Administrator for a ‘walk-thru’ of their salary statement and are encouraged to contact them if there is something they do not understand or believe is incorrect.
Q. If KHRIS is down for maintenance or unplanned outages, will I be able to access my salary statement?
A. While the system is down, for whatever reason, accounts are locked for all employees’ protection.
