Training and Development- HR Staff/KHRIS

DHRA is proud to offer the following KHRIS training to agency HR staff.

To enroll, please contact your agency training liaison.

Prerequisite courses:

KHRIS Basics of Navigation

This course must be completed prior to attending any KHRIS training. You can access this online course by clicking HERE.

Once completed, please inform your training liaison so completion can be recorded within KELMS.

Accurate Time Reporting

This course must be completed through KELMS prior to attending KHRIS time manegement classes (HRG-TM, TMA, TMK). Please note that all employees must complete this training. Course Code: 55793CBTHRSATR

Information, Security, Training, Education, Policies/Procedures (iSTEP) Portal

In accordance with Personnel Cabinet policy and the need to ensure awareness of the Personal Information Security and Breach Investigation procedures and Practices Act (KRS 61.931), requires that training be completed through the Information, Security, Training, Education, Policies/Procedures (iSTEP) Portal before any access request is submitted. Additionally, the same training is required annually in order to maintain access.

Employees scheduled to attend a Level 100 course (HRG, TMA, or TMK) will complete iSTEP before leaving, to ensure that with successful completion of the classroom training, their access can be granted promptly.

Upon completing the full course, an email will be automatically sent to the Agency Security Contact (ASC), notifying them that iSTEP has been completed and that any pending access request may be submitted by the ASC to the Personnel Cabinet for processing.

LEVEL 100 COURSES:

KHRIS Human Resource Generalist (HRG) Training

This is a weeklong course, comprised of the following:

     Organizational Management (OM) 100

     Personnel Administration (PA) 100

     Time Management (TM) 100

     Payroll (PY) 100

     Benefits Administration (BN) 100

It is intended for new HR Administrators who already have a basic knowledge of the above HR modules and provides the system training required to perform day-to-day activities using KHRIS.  You must successfully complete the full course in order to obtain the HRG security role in KHRIS. Once that role is obtained, the individual courses may be taken as refresher courses at any time they are offered.

KHRIS Human Resource Generalist (HRG) Training for County Fees ONLY

This is a three day course, comprised of the following:

     Organizational Management (OM) 100

     Personnel Administration (PA) 100

     Time Management (TM) 100

     Payroll (PY) 100

     Benefits Administration (BN) 100

It is intended for new HR Administrators, within County Fees, who already have a basic knowledge of the above HR modules and provides the system training required to perform day-to-day activities using KHRIS.  You must successfully complete the full course in order to obtain the HRG security role in KHRIS. Once that role is obtained, the individual courses may be taken as refresher courses at any time they are offered for County Fees.     

Time Administrator Training (TMA)

This is a one day course that provides the basic concepts of TMA.  The student will learn how to record, review, correct, and approve time in KHRIS.  The students will also learn  how to make changes to Master Data.

You must successfully complete the course in order to obtain the TMA security role in KHRIS. Once that role is obtained, employees are encouraged to attend the course again as a refresher.

Time Keepers Training (TMK) 

This is a one day course that provides the basic concepts of TMK.  The student will learn how to record, review, correct, and approve time in KHRIS.  

You must successfully complete the course in order to obtain the TMK security role in KHRIS. Once that role is obtained, employees are encouraged to attend the course again as a refresher.

LEVEL 200 COURSES:

These advanced courses are intended to build on the level 100 courses. Prior to attending, KHRIS HRG training must be successfully completed and the employee must have at least six months experience working with the HRG role.

Organizational Management (OM200)

This is a one day course intended to supplement the knowledge gained in the OM portion of the HRG training.

Personnel Administration (PA200)

This is a two day course, restricted to 18A agencies, which covers a combination of system and business content. Attendees will have the opportunity to master difficult processing scenarios and reporting in KHRIS, legislative reference for day to day processes, as well as the proper procedures for leave and months of service verifications.

Payroll (PY200)

This is a two day course intended to supplement the knowledge gained in the PY portion of the HRG Training. 

Payroll (PY200) for County Fees ONLY

This is a two day course catering to County Fees HR, intended to supplement the knowledge gained in the PY portion of the HRG County Fees Training.

Once you have successfully completed the Level 100 courses and have been granted your HRG role within KHRIS, you will also be granted access to the Personnel Cabinet's HR Website, where additional training materials are maintained and are available for continued use. Click the HR Administrators tab above (in the blue header) to access and log into the HR website where you can find this information under Services/Training.
