First and foremost, welcome to state government! We are so glad that you have decided to join this incredible team of public servants who are dedicated to serving Kentuckians to the best of their ability. As you look toward your first day, we would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and familiarize you with state government and your benefits as an employee.
The Personnel Cabinet is responsible for administering several human resources (HR) services, programs, and benefits to eligible state employees. While your agency's HR office will be your primary contact for any questions, we support all state government agencies through services such as benefits administration, including health insurance and payroll processing.
Starting a new job can be intimidating, so we have resources to help you get started. The videos below will help you understand your role in the Executive Branch of state government and provide an overview of how all three branches of government work together to support Kentuckians. If you scroll down further, you will see other resources about your available benefits.

Eligible state employees are entitled to a number of benefits and services. These will be explained to you by your hiring agency's HR staff, but to ensure you are knowledgeable upon arrival, especially for enrollment in 1st Day Health Insurance, please see below.
